As an independent arbitrator, mediator, attorney, and consultant, I’m available to help at a time when there is conflict, transition, or challenging projects. I’m in this work because I like working in the challenging spaces; I can help resolve difficult disputes, even with difficult people.
I have years of experience litigating, problem solving, working with people in crisis, and making the hard decisions. I have specialized knowledge in labor, employment, and agency law and nonprofit management. I’ll bring my extensive experience, neutral credentials, and professional skill to every case and customize my support to your individual needs and concerns.

Arbitration
I bring nearly 20 years of experience to my arbitration practice. I strive for certainty and clarity in my decisions so the parties can move forward. And I am comfortable with technology which makes parties confident with remote hearings.
I spent more than 12 working as an in-house attorney representing unions and individual public school educators and public employees across Minnesota. I provided daily legal and strategic advice and analysis, conducted numerous arbitrations and litigated cases on employee discipline and discharge, salary and benefit disputes, contract enforcement, collective bargaining agreements and labor relations, performance management and evaluation, leaves, layoffs, data practices, complex and “class” grievances, and more.
Mediation
I have spent many years helping resolve difficult disputes, even with difficult people. I seek to resolve disputes as a cost-effective and impartial neutral. My approach to mediation is flexible, fair, and focused. I work with parties to customize a process based your needs, establish ground rules at the outset of the mediation, and identify goals for the parties to manage conflicts with integrity and to find a result everyone can live with.
I am a Qualified Neutral on the Rule 114 Minnesota General Rules of Practice Roster and a trauma-informed practitioner.
Consulting
